Liliana Flower Farm is a flower farm specializing in daylilies. We first broke ground in 2004 in the fields surrounding a Colonial farmhouse. Our fields were nourished by sheep for 20 years making our soil exceedingly rich and our daylilies strong, healthy and vibrant.

We sell daylilies right out of the ground. We dig them up here and the customer takes them home and plants them (we will also pot them for a small fee). In the late summer we bare root them, and trim down the fans. In the spring we send them off with enough soil that they won't mind the move at all, and will bloom right on schedule. We even sell daylilies through the mail. They are such resilient plants that they can be bare rooted, dried out and shipped through the mail with near 100% survival.

In 2007 we added a greenhouse enabling us to grow a wide variety of other plants. But more importantly, we can now pursue our passion of growing plants in the late winter and early spring, rejecting the confines of the harsh New England winter.

We are continually building and maturing our selection of perennials, all hardy to Zone 4. This winter we planted over twenty new varieties by seed in the greenhouse and our second year plants, wintering outside, are robust and ready to bloom when nature intended. As an investment, our perennials certainly have the stock market beat, doubling or tripling (and, sometimes even more) within a year's time.

Here at Liliana Flower Farm we practice responsible gardening. While we do use small amounts of industrial fertilizers and pesticides, we do so with extreme caution and reserve exercising brutal rationality. We need to! Any run off, any seepage, goes directly into our own personal water supply! So we carefully research and cautiously decide what we use. For that reason our vegetables and herbs receive no pesticides, nor do our field grown products which receive only our own home made compost as fertilizer.
